James has been coaching gymnastics at RRVGC for 15 years.  Previously coached for 2 years at Dakota Star gymnastics in Mandan, ND.  James started on a showteam when he was 10 years old and competed for Dakota Star gymnastics from age 12-16 up to Class II.  James coached Recreational classes and was the Boys Team Head Coach at Dakota Star gymnastics for 2 years.  He started coaching at RRVGC in 1992 and helped out with recreational classes and Boys Team.  In 1996, James started coaching the artistic girls and became the Head Coach for them in 2001.
